The chip handles wattage regulation, fast firing speed (typically under 0.025 seconds), temperature control on supported devices and a stack of integrated safety protections including short-circuit and overheat shutdown. Newer generations like GENE TT2.0 (used in the Drag 5) add additional vape modes and refined power curves.
The PnP coil platform
Voopoo's PnP (Plug and Play) coil platform is the brand's biggest practical advantage. One coil family covers Drag, Argus and Vinci devices that share the platform, which means upgrading from a Vinci to a Drag X3 doesn't force you onto a new coil ecosystem. PnP coils run from 0.15 ohm sub-ohm options through to 1.2 ohm MTL coils, with the newer PnP-X variant offering improved wicking and longer coil life. Are Voopoo PnP coils cross-compatible?

Argus is the mid-range refillable pod line, with kits aimed at vapers transitioning from disposables, looking for cigarette-style MTL or balanced RDL with simpler controls.
How long do Voopoo pods and coils last?
Pods and coils typically last between one and two weeks of regular use before flavour drops off. Heavier VG e-liquids and very sweet flavours shorten coil life. Lighter 50/50 nic salts at the recommended wattage tend to deliver the longest pod life. Replace the pod or coil when you notice reduced flavour or a slight burnt edge on the inhale.
Are Voopoo kits affected by the UK disposable vape ban?
No. Every Voopoo kit on this page is a refillable pod kit or pod mod, not a disposable. The devices are rechargeable, the pods are refillable, and replacement coils are sold separately, so they sit outside the disposable vape ban and are designed for long-term reuse.
Can I use nic salts in a Voopoo kit?
Yes. Most of the pod kits in the Argus, Vinci and Vmate ranges are designed around nic salts and 50/50 PG/VG e-liquids, particularly when using higher-resistance pods or coils for a tight MTL draw. Sub-ohm Drag kits work better with high-VG e-liquids at lower nicotine strengths.
