About the Voopoo Argus Z2
The Argus Z2 is the entry point into the Argus pod kit range and one of the simplest refillable kits Voopoo currently produces. There's no fire button, no wattage adjustment, no screen and no airflow slider. You charge the device, fill the pod, click it in, and inhale. The smart chip handles power output automatically based on the pod resistance, the airflow is pre-tuned by the kit's design, and the only feedback you get is an LED battery indicator that changes colour as the charge drops.
Functionally, the Z2 sits below both the Argus Matrix (curved screen, dynamic lighting, 30W) and the Argus G3 (TFT screen, three themes, 30W). The Z2 strips away the screen and the manual controls in favour of a draw-and-vape experience that closely mirrors how a disposable feels. Crucially, it keeps the same Argus pod platform as the rest of the range, which means you can upgrade to a Matrix or G3 later without changing your pod consumables.
1500mAh battery and up to 5 days of use
The 1500mAh built-in battery is unusually large for a 20W draw-activated pod kit and gives the Z2 one of the longest runtimes in this category. Light vapers transitioning from disposables typically see four to five days of use between charges. Heavier vapers running the lower-resistance 0.4 ohm pod see two to three days. USB-C fast charging brings the battery back to full in around an hour. There's no proper screen, but the LED indicator displays charge status through colour coding: green for adequate charge dropping to red when a recharge is needed.
Draw-activated firing and fixed airflow
The Argus Z2 is draw-activated only, with no fire button anywhere on the device. Inhale on the mouthpiece and the device fires immediately, then deactivates the moment airflow stops. There's no learning curve, no button combination to remember and no risk of accidentally firing the device in a pocket because there's nothing to press. The activation system works consistently across both MTL and RDL draw resistances.
Airflow on the Z2 is fixed by Voopoo at the factory, pre-tuned to suit the kit's wattage range and the Argus pod platform. The fixed airflow means there's no slider to set up, nothing to forget, and the draw resistance you get is determined entirely by the pod resistance you fit. A 1.0 ohm or 1.2 ohm pod gives a tight cigarette-style MTL inhale; a 0.4 ohm pod opens up to a looser RDL draw with more vapour. This trade-off is the reason the Z2 stays so simple to live with: there's nothing to adjust between sessions.
LED indicator and smart wattage
Instead of a TFT screen, the Z2 uses a single LED battery indicator on the body of the device. The light shows the current charge level at a glance with three or four levels depending on remaining capacity, and switches to a red warning state when a recharge is needed. The smart chipset handles wattage automatically: it reads the pod resistance the moment you click a pod in and sets the power output to the appropriate level for that resistance, anywhere up to the kit's 20W ceiling. There's no manual wattage control, but for the Argus pod platform's resistance range, the auto-set wattages produce consistent flavour and vapour without needing manual fine-tuning.
Argus pod compatibility
The kit ships with a 2ml UK TPD-compliant 0.7 ohm Argus top-fill pod with a built-in mesh coil, ideal for nic salts and 50/50 PG/VG e-liquids paired with an MTL draw. The Z2 is fully compatible with the wider Argus pod family, which means you can swap in 0.4 ohm pods for warmer RDL draws or 1.0 ohm and 1.2 ohm pods for tighter MTL hits. All replacement pods are stocked on our consolidated Argus replacement pods page, covering the V1, Top Fill V2 and E40 ranges on a single URL.
Refilling is via a top-fill silicone-stoppered port on the pod itself. Lift the stopper, drip e-liquid below the maximum line, replace the stopper, and the pod is ready to vape. Wait five to ten minutes after refilling for the coil to wick fully before the first puff, particularly with new pods.

Argus Z2: frequently asked questions
Is the Argus Z2 a good kit for beginners?
Yes. The Argus Z2 is one of the simplest refillable pod kits Voopoo makes. There's no fire button, no wattage adjustment, no screen and no airflow slider. You charge it, fill the pod, click it in and inhale. For vapers stepping up from disposables, it's the closest experience to disposable simplicity in a refillable kit.
What is the difference between the Argus Z2 and the Argus G3?
Both kits share a 1500mAh battery and the Argus pod platform, but the experience is different. The Argus Z2 is 20W maximum with no screen, fixed airflow and draw-activation only. The Argus G3 tops out at 30W with a 0.96-inch TFT colour screen, three theme modes, adjustable airflow and manual wattage control. Pick the Z2 for simplicity, the G3 for control.
Does the Argus Z2 have adjustable airflow?
No. Airflow is fixed at the factory and pre-tuned to suit the kit's wattage range and the Argus pod platform. The draw resistance you experience is determined entirely by the pod resistance you fit. Higher-resistance pods (1.0 ohm, 1.2 ohm) give a tighter MTL inhale; lower-resistance pods (0.4 ohm) open up to a looser RDL draw.
Which pods fit the Argus Z2?
The Argus Z2 is fully compatible with the Argus pod family, including the Argus Top Fill V2 pods (0.4, 0.7, 1.0 ohm) and the wider Argus pod range. All replacements are listed on our consolidated Argus replacement pods page, covering the V1, V2 and E40 generations on a single URL.
How long does the Argus Z2 battery last?
Up to five days for light vapers stepping up from disposables, or two to three days for heavier vapers running a lower-resistance pod. The 1500mAh battery is unusually large for a 20W draw-activated kit, which is the main reason it lasts so well. USB-C fast charging brings the battery back to full in around an hour.
Can I use nic salts in the Argus Z2?
Yes. The supplied 0.7 ohm pod is designed around nic salts at 10mg or 20mg strengths paired with an MTL draw, making it a strong match for vapers transitioning from disposables. 50/50 PG/VG nic salts work best, and freebase 50/50 e-liquids also vape well at this resistance. Higher VG shortfills can be used in the 0.4 ohm pod if you prefer a warmer RDL draw.
Does the Argus Z2 fire by button or by inhale?
By inhale only. There's no fire button on the Argus Z2. Drawing on the mouthpiece activates the device immediately, and it deactivates the moment you stop. The system prevents accidental firing in a pocket because there's no button to press by accident, which is one of the reasons the kit suits new vapers and people moving on from disposables.
