Drag X3 colour finishes
Every Drag X3 uses the same internals and the same zinc-alloy chassis with leather-effect accent panels. The only thing changing across the range is the colour and finish of the chassis itself.
| Colour | Finish |
|---|---|
| Spray Black | Matte black with leather accent, classic Drag look |
| Gray Metal | Industrial dark grey metal finish |
| Champagne Golden | Warm gold with leather contrast |
| Sky Blue | Bright mid-tone blue |
| Moss Green | Deep forest green, matte finish |
| Aurora Purple | Rich purple with subtle gradient |
| Glow Pink | Bright pink with leather accent |
About the Voopoo Drag X3
The Drag X3 is the most advanced sub-ohm pod mod in the current Drag line and the first in the series to feature a full touchscreen. It runs on a single external 18650 or 21700 battery, gives you up to 80W of adjustable power, and pairs that with the PnP-X pod platform for cross-compatible coil and pod swaps. An 18650 adapter is included in the box, so the device works with both cell sizes without any extra accessories. The chassis is a zinc-alloy frame with leather-effect accent panels, weighted to feel solid in the hand without becoming a brick.
The big shift over the Drag X2 is the screen. The X3 carries a 1.66-inch HD colour touchscreen on the front of the device, which handles wattage adjustment, mode selection, battery status and resistance readout in one place. Touch responsiveness is fast, navigation runs through swipes and taps rather than button combinations, and a capacitive unlock sensor reads your fingertip to wake the device when you pick it up.
80W power and three vape modes
The Drag X3 runs on the GENE.TT 2.0 chipset and delivers a 5W to 80W output range across three vape modes:
Smart Mode reads the resistance of the fitted coil and sets a recommended starting wattage automatically. The 0.15 ohm PnP-X coil defaults to around 65W in Smart Mode; the 0.3 ohm coil defaults to around 35W. This is the fastest way to get going on a new coil without manually dialling in a setting.
RBA Mode hands full wattage control over to you, anywhere from 5W up to 80W. Use it to push above or below the Smart Mode default, fine-tune flavour at the lower end, or run third-party tanks via a 510 adapter.
Eco Mode caps the output to extend battery runtime between charges or cell swaps, useful if you're running power-hungry sub-ohm coils all day and want to stretch the time before swapping batteries.
1.66-inch touchscreen and capacitive unlock
The 1.66-inch HD TFT touchscreen handles every interaction on the device. There are no menu combinations to learn and no fire-button click sequences to memorise. Swipe through wattage settings, tap to switch modes, and check battery status and pod resistance at a glance in clear, sharp colour.
The capacitive unlock sensor sits beneath the screen and works the same way a phone screen does. It responds only to conductive human skin, so a fingertip wakes the device but keys, fabric or coins in your pocket don't. The lock auto-engages when you put the device down, which prevents accidental fires when carrying the kit in a bag or pocket.
PnP-X pod platform compatibility
The Drag X3 is built around the PnP-X pod platform, Voopoo's updated coil and pod system. The kit ships with a 2ml PnP-X DTL pod (UK TPD-compliant) plus a pre-installed 0.15 ohm coil and a spare 0.3 ohm coil. Refilling is via a side-fill port with a silicone seal, and the top-airflow design keeps e-liquid away from the air inlets to reduce leak risk.
The full PnP-X coil range is available as standard replacements, with resistances spanning 0.15 ohm and 0.2 ohm for DTL clouds, 0.3 ohm and 0.6 ohm for RDL and looser MTL. The device also accepts the PnP-X MTL pod for tighter cigarette-style draws when paired with higher-resistance coils.
18650 and 21700 battery compatibility
The dual battery slot is one of the Drag X3's most useful practical features. Out of the box the kit ships set up for 21700 cells, which carry significantly more capacity than 18650 cells in the same slot. An 18650 adapter is included, so you can also run cheaper or more widely available 18650 batteries when needed. A magnetic battery cover removes cleanly for fast swaps. Carrying a spare cell means you can keep vaping without waiting for a charge, which is a meaningful practical advantage over built-in battery devices on power-hungry sub-ohm coils.

Drag X3: frequently asked questions
Does the Drag X3 come with a battery?
No. The Drag X3 takes a single external 18650 or 21700 battery, sold separately. An 18650 adapter is included in the box so the device works with both cell sizes without any extra accessories. We always recommend buying batteries from a trusted UK retailer and using a dedicated external charger for cell longevity.
What is the difference between the Drag X3 and the Drag X2?
The Drag X3 adds a 1.66-inch full-colour touchscreen, capacitive unlock sensor, and 21700 battery support alongside the existing 18650 compatibility. Both kits run on the PnP-X pod platform and both cap at 80W, but the X3 swaps the X2's button-and-LED interface for full touchscreen control with three vape modes (Smart, RBA, Eco).
Which pods fit the Drag X3?
The Drag X3 is built around the PnP-X pod platform. It accepts both the PnP-X DTL pod (supplied) and the PnP-X MTL pod for tighter draws. Replacement coils span the full PnP-X range from 0.15 ohm sub-ohm through to 0.6 ohm RDL options.
What is Smart Mode?
Smart Mode reads the resistance of the coil you've fitted and automatically sets a starting wattage that suits it. The 0.15 ohm coil defaults to around 65W; the 0.3 ohm coil defaults to around 35W. It's the fastest way to get going on a new coil without manually dialling in a setting. You can switch to RBA Mode at any time for full manual control.
Can I use nic salts in the Drag X3?
Yes, but the Drag X3 is primarily a sub-ohm DTL device built around 70/30 or higher-VG e-liquids at lower nicotine strengths. Nic salts work best in the higher-resistance PnP-X coils (0.6 ohm and above) paired with a tighter MTL draw. For full-time nic salt use, lighter pod kits like the Argus Z2 or Argus G3 are usually a better match.
How does the capacitive unlock sensor work?
The capacitive sensor works the same way as a phone screen. It responds only to conductive human skin, so a fingertip wakes and unlocks the device but keys, fabric or coins in your pocket cannot. The device auto-locks when you put it down, which prevents accidental fires while the kit is in a pocket or bag.
Is the Drag X3 affected by the UK disposable vape ban?
No. The Drag X3 is a refillable pod mod with a swappable battery, not a disposable. The pod is refillable, the coils are replaceable, and the battery is removable, so the device sits well outside the disposable vape ban and is designed for long-term reuse.
