Aspire vape: frequently asked questions
Which Aspire vape kit is best for beginners?
The Aspire Gotek X3 and Gotek X are the best starting points for beginners. Both are draw-activated, require no buttons or wattage adjustments, and use AF mesh pods with integrated coils that simply click into the device. When the pod needs replacing, you click in a new one. They work best with 50/50 nic salt e-liquid at 10mg to 20mg. The Minican 3 Pro is the best choice for anyone specifically wanting the tightest, most cigarette-like MTL draw from an Aspire kit.
What is the difference between Aspire AF coils and BVC coils?
AF mesh coils are Aspire's current generation coil format, designed for the Gotek X pod range. They sit inside an integrated pod and are replaced along with the pod when worn out. BVC (Bottom Vertical Coil) coils are the classic Aspire format designed for the Nautilus tank range and older Aspire kits. BVC coils screw into the base of the Nautilus tank and are replaced independently when the flavour fades. AF and BVC coils are not interchangeable and are designed for different devices.
Are Aspire Gotek X pods compatible with all Gotek devices?
Yes. Aspire Gotek X replacement pods are compatible across the Gotek X, Gotek X3, Gotek Pro and Gotek Nano devices. All four use the same pod connection format and the same AF mesh coil system. This means you only need one type of replacement pod regardless of which Gotek device you own.
What e-liquid should I use with Aspire pod kits?
For Aspire Gotek and Minican pod kits, use 50/50 VG/PG nic salt e-liquid at 10mg to 20mg. These kits run at lower wattages suited to higher-resistance coils and thin e-liquid. Using high-VG shortfill e-liquid in a pod kit will result in poor wicking, dry hits and reduced coil life. For the PockeX AIO, 50/50 e-liquid at 3mg to 6mg works well with the included sub-ohm coil, or nic salt at 10mg to 20mg with the higher-resistance 1.2 ohm coil.
