Voopoo TPP DM coils

The DM range is the standard TPP mesh coil family, designed around DTL and RDL sub-ohm vaping with high VG e-liquids. Each coil press-fits into the base of the TPP pod with no threads to manage. Pull the spent coil out, push the new one in, prime, and vape.

Coil Best for
TPP-DM1 0.15 ohm (Pack of 3) 60-80W DTL clouds, high VG e-liquids, the cloud-chaser coil
TPP-DM2 0.2 ohm (Pack of 3) 40-60W DTL, balanced flavour and vapour, slightly cooler draw
TPP-DM4 0.3 ohm (Pack of 3) 32-40W RDL or half-DL, less cloud, more flavour, longest pod life

About the TPP (Turbo Pod Platform) coils

TPP stands for Turbo Pod Platform, Voopoo's higher-wattage pod and coil system designed specifically for sub-ohm and DTL vaping. The platform launched alongside the Drag 3 and Drag X Plus and uses a much larger pod chamber and higher-output mesh coils than the brand's PnP and PnP-X platforms. Where PnP-X coils sit in the 0.15-1.0 ohm range and target everything from MTL through to RDL, TPP coils are designed for cloud-focused DTL with the 0.15-0.3 ohm range dominating the lineup.

The DM coils use a patented mesh design that increases the atomising surface area inside the coil and improves heating speed. Combined with multi-layer organic cotton, the result is faster ramp-up, more even heat distribution across the wick, and noticeably smoother flavour at high wattages compared to traditional wire coils. The press-fit installation is the same as the PnP platform but the coils themselves are physically larger and not cross-compatible with PnP pods.

Compatible Voopoo kits

TPP DM coils fit any Voopoo kit built around the TPP platform, including:

Voopoo Drag 3: dual 18650 box mod with up to 177W output, ships with the TPP Pod Tank.

Voopoo Drag X Plus: single 21700 box mod with up to 100W output, ships with the TPP Pod Tank.

Voopoo TPP Pod Tank: the standalone pod-tank hybrid that uses the TPP coils and a 510 base adapter, compatible with any 510-threaded box mod.

The DM coils also fit the newer Drag S Pro and Drag X Pro kits via the updated TPP-X pod, which retains backwards compatibility with the standard TPP DM coil range.

The coils on this page do NOT fit the PnP or PnP-X platform, the ITO platform, the Argus pod platform, or any of the Vinci 2 / Vinci 3 sealed pod kits. Each of those uses a different coil range stocked elsewhere on the site.

Wattage and resistance guide

Each TPP DM coil has a recommended wattage range that produces the best flavour and pod life. The Drag 3 and Drag X Plus both auto-set the wattage in Smart Mode based on the coil resistance, but if you're running RBA Mode for manual control, these are the ranges to aim at:

TPP-DM1 0.15 ohm: 60-80W DTL with high VG e-liquids (70 VG / 30 PG or higher). The cloud-focused option, runs warm and produces dense vapour. Best for vapers who want big clouds and rich, full-bodied flavour.

TPP-DM2 0.2 ohm: 40-60W DTL with high VG e-liquids. Sits in the middle of the range, more balanced output than the DM1 with slightly cooler vapour and good flavour clarity. A solid all-day DTL coil.

TPP-DM4 0.3 ohm: 32-40W RDL or half-DL with high VG or 70/30 e-liquids. The lower-power option in the range, smoother and longer-lasting at moderate wattage. Best for vapers who prefer flavour over cloud volume.

TPP vs PnP coils: which platform do I have?

TPP and PnP are two completely separate Voopoo coil platforms, NOT cross-compatible. A TPP coil will not fit a PnP pod and vice versa.

TPP (this page) is the high-wattage sub-ohm-only platform used in the Drag 3, Drag X Plus, Drag S Pro and Drag X Pro. TPP coils are 0.15-0.3 ohm sub-ohm DTL only.

PnP and PnP-X are the broader-range cross-device platforms used in Drag X3, Drag S3, Argus and Vinci kits. PnP coils span 0.15-1.0 ohm, covering everything from sub-ohm DTL through to tight MTL. See our PnP replacement coils page.

If you own a Drag 3 or Drag X Plus, you need TPP coils (this page). If you own a Drag X3, S3, Vinci E80 or any Argus kit with a refillable PnP pod, you need PnP coils.

Voopoo TPP coils: frequently asked questions

Which Voopoo kits do TPP coils fit?

TPP DM coils fit the Voopoo Drag 3, Drag X Plus and the standalone TPP Pod Tank, plus the newer Drag S Pro and Drag X Pro via the TPP-X pod. They do not fit any of the Drag X3, S3, Vinci E80, Argus or Vmate kits, which use the PnP, PnP-X or kit-specific pod platforms.

Can I use TPP coils in PnP pods?

No. TPP and PnP are two physically incompatible coil platforms. TPP coils are larger than PnP coils and won't seat properly in a PnP pod. Conversely, PnP coils are too small to seal correctly in a TPP pod. The kits, pods and coils are platform-specific. Check our PnP coils page if you have a PnP-platform kit.

Which TPP coil should I choose?

For maximum cloud production and full DTL flavour at higher wattages, the DM1 0.15 ohm at 60-80W is the standard pick. For a slightly cooler all-day DTL vape, the DM2 0.2 ohm at 40-60W is the balanced middle option. For lower-power vaping with smoother flavour and longer coil life, the DM4 0.3 ohm at 32-40W is the choice.

What e-liquid works best with TPP coils?

High VG e-liquid at 70 VG / 30 PG or higher works best across all TPP coils. The sub-ohm 0.15 and 0.2 ohm coils need the higher VG content to wick effectively at high wattages and produce the cloud volume the platform is designed for. Nic salts at 50/50 ratios are not the best match. Lower nicotine strengths (3mg or 6mg) are more comfortable at TPP wattages than higher nicotine strengths.

How do I install a TPP coil?

TPP coils press-fit into the base of the TPP pod. Pull the spent coil straight out, push the new coil into the same socket, and you're done. Always prime the new coil with a few drops of e-liquid on the exposed cotton before fitting, then wait five to ten minutes after refilling the pod for the cotton to fully wick before vaping. This prevents dry hits and burnt cotton on the first puff.

How long does a TPP coil last?

TPP coils typically last between one and two weeks of regular use before flavour drops off. Sweet or dessert e-liquids gunk coils faster than fruit or menthol blends, sometimes shortening coil life to a few days. The DM4 0.3 ohm tends to last longest because it runs at lower wattage. The DM1 0.15 ohm at 80W cloud-chasing wattages typically has the shortest life.

Why does my TPP coil taste burnt?

The most common causes are running the coil above its recommended wattage range, vaping with the pod nearly empty (which lets the cotton dry out), insufficient priming on a new coil, or e-liquid that's too thick (very high VG below recommended PG levels). Drop the wattage, top up the pod regularly, prime new coils properly with a few drops of e-liquid before installing, and consider a slightly thinner e-liquid blend if the issue persists.
