About the Voopoo Drag S3
The Drag S3 is the built-in battery version of the Drag X3 and the most refined small-format pod mod in the current Drag line. It runs on a 3000mAh integrated battery, gives you 5W to 60W of adjustable output, and uses the same PnP-X pod and coil platform as its bigger sibling. The chassis follows the family Drag design language: zinc alloy frame, leather-textured rear panel and a semi-circular profile that sits comfortably in the hand.
The S3 replaces the older Drag S2 with a 4mm smaller body and a 500mAh larger battery, so you get around 25 percent more runtime in a more pocket-friendly chassis. Where the X3 is built around touchscreen control and external batteries, the S3 keeps things simple with a conventional 0.96-inch TFT screen, a single fire button, two adjustment buttons and a built-in cell that doesn't need swapping. It's the kit to pick if you want Drag-series performance without managing 18650 or 21700 cells.
60W output and 3000mAh built-in battery
The 3000mAh built-in battery is the headline practical advantage. At MTL wattages between 12 and 18W with a higher-resistance PnP-X coil, most adult vapers see a full day and into the evening from a single charge. At DTL wattages between 40 and 60W with a 0.15 ohm coil, that drops to roughly a full day of moderate use. USB-C 5V/2A fast charging brings the battery back to full in around 90 minutes, and a 10-15 minute top-up gives you a usable charge if you need a quick boost before heading out.
The 5W to 60W output range covers MTL through to DTL with the same device. The S3 doesn't push as high as the 80W X3, but for a built-in battery in this size class, 60W is plenty for the PnP-X coil platform's intended power range. Output stays steady through the full battery cycle thanks to the GENE TT 2.0 chipset, which keeps flavour and vapour consistent right up to the low-battery cut-off.
Capacitive touch unlock and three modes
The Drag S3 uses a capacitive touch sensor on the fire button to handle locking and unlocking. Lift the device, touch the button, and the device wakes. Put it down and the device auto-locks the moment your finger leaves the sensor. Three unlock options ship with the device: capacitive touch (default), traditional five-press button unlock, or maintained unlock for those who prefer the device to stay active without auto-locking. Switch between them through the side-button menu.
The GENE TT 2.0 chipset runs three vape modes:
Smart Mode reads the resistance of the fitted PnP-X coil and sets a recommended starting wattage automatically. Drop in a 0.15 ohm coil for DTL clouds and the wattage steps up; fit a 0.8 ohm coil for tighter MTL and it drops to suit.
RBA Mode hands full wattage control over to you, anywhere from 5W up to 60W. Use it to push above or below the Smart Mode default, or to dial in a personal preference at the lower end.
Eco Mode caps the output to extend battery runtime between charges, useful when you're running power-hungry sub-ohm coils all day.
PnP-X coil platform compatibility
The Drag S3 is built around the PnP-X pod platform, the same coil family used in the Drag X3, the Vinci E80 and other PnP-X compatible kits. The kit ships with the PnP-X DTL pod and two PnP-X coils included, plus a removable 510 drip tip if you want to swap in your own. The full PnP-X coil range covers 0.15 ohm sub-ohm DTL options through to 1.0 ohm tighter MTL, and the device also accepts the PnP-X MTL pod for dedicated cigarette-style draws.
Stepless top-airflow adjustment on the pod gives you the full range from fully open DTL to tightly restricted MTL with no fixed click positions. The top-airflow design routes air in from above the e-liquid level, which keeps leaks down regardless of where the airflow slider is set.
0.96-inch TFT screen and zinc-alloy build
The 0.96-inch TFT colour screen sits on the front face of the device and shows wattage, coil resistance, battery level and puff count at a glance. The display is smaller than the touchscreen on the X3 but the information density is the same and the screen stays readable in direct sunlight. Build quality is zinc alloy with a leather-textured rear panel that gives the kit a secure grip during all-day pocket carry. The S3 measures 124.2mm × 53mm × 28mm, which is genuinely pocket-friendly compared to the X3's larger frame.

Drag S3: frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Drag S3 and the Drag X3?
The Drag S3 is the built-in battery version of the kit. It runs on a 3000mAh internal battery, tops out at 60W and uses a 0.96-inch TFT screen with button-and-touch control. The Drag X3 takes external 18650 or 21700 batteries (sold separately), pushes 80W and uses a 1.66-inch full touchscreen with capacitive unlock. Same PnP-X coil platform on both, different power and battery format.
How long does the Drag S3 battery last?
The 3000mAh built-in battery is one of the largest in any 60W slim pod mod. At MTL wattages around 12-18W, most adult vapers see a full day and into the evening from a single charge. At DTL wattages around 40-60W, that drops to roughly a full day of moderate use. USB-C 5V/2A fast charging fills the battery in around 90 minutes from flat.
Does the Drag S3 take external batteries?
No. The Drag S3 has a 3000mAh built-in battery that cannot be swapped. If you want external 18650 or 21700 battery support, the Drag X3 is the version of this kit to pick. The S3 is built for vapers who want the convenience of a sealed battery without the hassle of carrying spare cells.
Which pods and coils fit the Drag S3?
The Drag S3 is built around the PnP-X pod platform. It accepts both the PnP-X DTL pod (supplied) and the PnP-X MTL pod for tighter draws. Replacement coils span the full PnP-X range from 0.15 ohm sub-ohm through to 1.0 ohm RDL options. All replacements are listed on our consolidated PnP coils page.
How does the capacitive touch unlock work?
The capacitive sensor sits inside the fire button and reads conductive human skin, the same way a phone screen does. A fingertip wakes and unlocks the device; the lock auto-engages the moment your finger leaves the button. Three unlock options are available: capacitive touch (default), traditional five-press button unlock, or maintained unlock that keeps the device active without auto-locking. Switch between them in the device menu.
Can I use nic salts in the Drag S3?
Yes, with the right coil. Higher-resistance PnP-X coils (0.6 ohm, 0.8 ohm or 1.0 ohm) paired with a tighter MTL airflow setting work best for nic salts at 10mg or 20mg strengths. Lower-resistance coils (0.15 ohm or 0.3 ohm) suit higher VG freebase e-liquids at lower nicotine strengths for a warmer DTL draw.
Is the Drag S3 affected by the UK disposable vape ban?
No. The Drag S3 is a refillable pod mod with a rechargeable battery, not a disposable. The pods are refillable, the coils are replaceable, and the battery is rechargeable via USB-C, so it sits well outside the disposable vape ban and is built for long-term reuse.
