Which refillable pod fits your kit?
Refillable pods are not universal. Each one is cut to fit a specific kit, so a Vaporesso Xros pod won't drop into an Oxva Xlim and an Aspire pod won't fit a Uwell. The device name is the thing to match, and once you know it you're sorted for life. Find your kit below and you'll land straight on the right pods.
| Your refillable kit | Pods to get |
|---|---|
| Vaporesso Xros | Vaporesso pods |
| Oxva Xlim | Oxva Xlim V3 pods |
| Oxva Nexlim | Oxva Nexlim pods |
| Uwell Caliburn | Caliburn pods |
| Aspire (Flexus, Pixo) | Flexus Pro, Pixo |
| SMOK Novo | Novo pods |
| Voopoo | Voopoo pods |
How a refillable pod works
A refillable pod holds the coil and the e-liquid together in one part, the same as any pod, but it arrives empty. You pop the bung, fill it from a 10ml bottle of your choice, let it stand for a minute so the coil soaks through, then vape. When the coil eventually tires and the flavour drops off, you swap in a fresh pod rather than cleaning anything or changing a coil separately.
The appeal over a sealed prefilled pod is control and cost. You pick the flavour and the strength instead of taking whatever a brand pre-loads, and because you're only rebuying pods occasionally and liquid the rest of the time, it works out cheaper over a month. Pods hold up to 2ml to stay within UK rules, and most take either nic salt for a smooth mouth-to-lung hit or standard freebase e-liquid.
Why mesh pods flavour better
Mesh is the coil inside the pod, and it's the single biggest reason modern refillable pods taste better than the old ones. A mesh coil is a flat sheet with a much wider surface than the coiled wire it replaced, so it heats more e-liquid evenly and all at once. That gives you a cleaner, fuller flavour and vapour that stays consistent instead of fading as the pod wears, and because the heat is spread out, the coil tends to last a little longer too. Most of the pods here use mesh, and once you've had it, thin wire-coil flavour is hard to go back to.
Picking the right pod resistance
Refillable pods often come in more than one resistance, marked in ohms, and it changes how the pod vapes. This is worth a look before you buy, because it decides the draw and the liquid you should pair with it.
| Resistance | What you get |
|---|---|
| Higher (around 1.0ohm and up) | A tight, cigarette-like MTL draw. Best with 20mg nic salt, ideal for ex-smokers |
| Lower (around 0.6 to 0.8ohm) | A warmer, airier draw with more vapour. Best with lower-strength or freebase liquid |
If you're switching from smoking or disposables, go higher-ohm with nic salt for the closest match. If you want bigger clouds and a softer throat, drop the resistance and the nicotine to suit.
Nicotine and e-liquid
The freedom to choose is the whole point of a refillable pod. Run 20mg nic salt for a cigarette-like hit in a tight MTL pod, drop to 10mg or lower for something smoother, or use standard freebase e-liquid in a lower-resistance pod built for a bit more power. If you're unsure, 20mg nic salt in a 10ml bottle is the safe starting point for most small pod kits. In the UK, nicotine bottles top out at 10ml and pods at 2ml, so you refill little and often.
How long a pod lasts, and how to get more from it
A refillable pod's coil usually lasts one to two weeks of normal use before the flavour starts to dull, though that depends on the liquid and how hard you vape. Two habits kill a pod early: chain-vaping, which doesn't give the coil time to re-wet and leaves a burnt taste, and letting the liquid drop below the coil so it fires dry. Keep it topped up above the coil, prime a fresh pod for a minute after filling, and take a beat between draws, and you'll get the full life out of every one. Sweet, dark or high-VG liquids gunk a coil faster, so a pod on those won't last as long as one on a lighter flavour.

Refillable pod FAQs
Are refillable vape pods universal?
No. Each pod is made for a specific kit, so a Vaporesso pod won't fit an Oxva and so on. Match the pod to the device you own, going by the kit's name, and you'll always get the right one.
How do I fill a refillable pod?
Open the fill port on the side or base, drip your e-liquid in from a 10ml bottle up to the 2ml line, close it, then let the pod stand for about a minute so the coil soaks through. That last step is what stops the first few puffs tasting burnt.
What's a mesh pod?
A pod with a mesh coil inside, a flat sheet that heats a wider surface than old coiled wire. It gives cleaner, fuller flavour and more consistent vapour, and tends to last a bit longer. Most modern refillable pods are mesh.
Which resistance should I choose?
Higher resistance (around 1.0ohm and up) gives a tight cigarette-like draw and suits 20mg nic salt. Lower resistance (around 0.6 to 0.8ohm) gives a warmer, airier draw with more vapour and pairs with lower-strength or freebase liquid.
How long does a refillable pod last?
Usually one to two weeks of normal use before the coil tires and the flavour dulls. Darker, sweeter liquids wear a coil faster. When the taste drops off or turns slightly burnt, that's the point to swap the pod.
Can I use any e-liquid in a refillable pod?
Match the liquid to the pod. A tight MTL pod is built for nic salt or 50/50 freebase, while a lower-resistance pod can take thicker higher-VG liquid. Nicotine bottles are 10ml max and pods hold up to 2ml in the UK.
