About Freemax
Freemax was founded in 2013 in the Bao'an District of Shenzhen and started life as an OEM supplier producing tanks and coils for other vape brands before launching its own consumer line. The company's industry-changing moment came in 2017 with the Fireluke Mesh, the first sub-ohm tank built specifically around mesh coils. Mesh coils heat more evenly than traditional round wire, ramp up faster, and last considerably longer, and the Fireluke Mesh kicked off the wider mesh-coil revolution that now dominates sub-ohm vaping.
The Mesh Pro tank followed in 2018, becoming the first tank to support single, dual, triple, quad and quintuple mesh coil setups for genuinely huge cloud production. Today Freemax operates across more than 100 countries with a product line spanning four headline series: Maxus high-wattage box mods for advanced sub-ohm vapers, Marvos compact pod mods with DTL and RDL capabilities, Onnix compact pod kits for MTL beginners and high-strength vapers, and the Fireluke and M Pro tank ranges that the brand built its reputation on.
The current FM COILTECH 4.0 coil platform sits underneath most of the brand's 2024 and 2025 hardware, combining military-grade SS904L mesh with tea-fiber cotton for cleaner flavour and longer coil life than earlier mesh generations.
The Onnix 2 15W pod kit explained
The Onnix 2 is the second-generation of the Onnix pod kit, originally launched as part of Freemax's "We Vape, We Save" sustainability campaign. The kit pairs a compact 15W pod-style mod with a 2ml UK TPD-compliant refillable pod and runs on a built-in 1100mAh battery via USB-C charging. A full charge takes around 60 minutes at 1.5A and gives most adult vapers a full day's vaping at moderate use.
Output sits at 15W with three power levels selected from the device, and the pod accepts both draw and button activation. The pod itself uses Freemax's OX coil range with FM COILTECH technology and has a side-fill port for tidy refilling. Freemax positions the Onnix 2 specifically for high-strength MTL vaping. It handles 6-12mg freebase nic comfortably and is rated to take 20mg nic salts in the UK (or 20-50mg in markets without TPD limits) for vapers stepping down from cigarettes or moving across from disposables.
Marvos XL glass replacement pod
The Marvos XL Glass Replacement Pod is an upgrade option for the Marvos pod kit range. The standard Marvos pod uses PCTG plastic; the glass version replaces that with a Pyrex glass body for clearer e-liquid visibility, no clouding over time, and better resistance to harsher e-liquid blends (heavy citrus, menthol or cinnamon flavours can craze or stress-crack PCTG over months of use). The glass pod uses the same magnetic mounting and accepts the same Marvos coil range as the original pod, so swapping is a direct drop-in.
Note that the glass version's fill port is narrower than the PCTG original, so e-liquid bottles with very wide nozzles may struggle to insert directly into the port. Bottles with standard or pointed nozzles fill without issue.
Fireluke 3 and M Pro 2 replacement tank glass
The Fireluke 3 and M Pro 2 are both sub-ohm tanks designed for high-wattage DTL vaping with mesh coils. The bubble glass on either tank is the most common breakage point. Drop the tank from a desk, knock it against a hard surface, or over-tighten when refitting and the glass can crack or chip. Replacement glass is sold as the section without coils or hardware, so you keep your existing coil, top cap and base when fitting the new glass.
The Fireluke 3 glass fits the Fireluke 3 tank specifically (using the 904L X coil range) and is not interchangeable with the original Fireluke or Fireluke 2. The M Pro 2 glass is similarly tank-specific and fits the M Pro 2 (using the M1, M2, M3 and M4 mesh coils) but not the original M Pro tank. Always check which tank you have before ordering, since the diameters and threading differ between generations.

Freemax: frequently asked questions
Is the Freemax Onnix 2 suitable for beginners?
Yes. The Onnix 2 is one of Freemax's most beginner-friendly kits. It's compact and pocket-portable, has draw activation as well as a fire button, charges via USB-C, and uses simple drop-in replacement pods. The 15W output and MTL pod design suit ex-smokers and disposable-vape switchers using 20mg nic salts or 6-12mg freebase e-liquids. There's no wattage to set or coil to install in most cases.
What e-liquid works best with the Onnix 2?
The Onnix 2 is built around MTL vaping, which means 50/50 PG/VG ratio e-liquids work best. Nicotine salts at 10mg or 20mg are the most popular choice for MTL pod kits and give a smoother throat hit at higher nicotine strengths. Freebase e-liquids at 6mg, 12mg or 18mg also work well. The 2ml pod isn't designed for sub-ohm high-VG shortfills.
How long do Freemax coils last?
Freemax coils typically last between one and three weeks of regular use, with most adult vapers seeing around two weeks before flavour drops off. Sweet or dessert e-liquids tend to gunk coils faster than fruit or menthol blends, sometimes shortening coil life to under a week. Sub-ohm coils run at higher wattages also burn out faster than higher-resistance MTL coils. The current FM COILTECH 4.0 coils with SS904L mesh and tea-fiber cotton tend to outlast earlier mesh generations.
Are Onnix 2 replacement pods supplied with coils?
No. The Onnix 2 Replacement Pods 2-pack ships with the empty pod chambers only, without coils pre-installed. You'll need to fit a separate Freemax OX coil into each pod. This split design means you keep using the same pod for longer and only replace the coil when the flavour fades. Coils press-fit into the pod base with no threads.
Can I use Freemax coils in other brands' tanks?
Generally no. Freemax coils are designed specifically for the brand's own tanks and pods. Some coils may physically fit other brands' hardware, but performance, coil life and safety are not guaranteed outside the intended kit. Stick to brand-approved coils for the Fireluke, M Pro, Marvos and Onnix ranges for the best results.
What's the difference between the Marvos PCTG pod and the glass pod?
The PCTG pod uses a clear plastic body that's lighter and more impact-resistant. The glass pod replaces the PCTG with Pyrex for a cleaner e-liquid view that doesn't cloud or stress-crack with harsher flavours like citrus, menthol or cinnamon. Both pods use the same magnetic mounting and the same coil range. The glass version's fill port is slightly narrower, so e-liquid bottles with very wide nozzles can be harder to insert.
Is Fireluke 3 glass interchangeable with the original Fireluke or Fireluke 2?
No. Each generation of the Fireluke tank has its own dedicated replacement glass with different diameters and threading. The Fireluke 3 glass fits the Fireluke 3 tank only and won't fit the original Fireluke or the Fireluke 2. Always check which version of the tank you own before ordering replacement glass.
