Ice Eliquids

Ice e-liquids don’t really refer to a flavour per se, more of a sensation. Many vapers prefer a cool, refreshing sensation and ice is the preferred term to sum up these flavours. For example “raspberry ice” (a popular flavour) gives the sensation of cool, frozen raspberries for a cooling blast to tingle those taste buds.

Many use these ice e-liquids as their all day vape, as like menthol, they offer refreshing flavour all day long. The vapour itself also tends to be much less sweet-smelling.

If you are quitting smoking, and used to smoke menthol cigarettes, then ice e-liquids are a great way to expand your vaping horizons. They retain all of the pleasant coolness, but also other flavours such as fruit.

What is an e-liquid?

E-liquids, also known as vape juices, are the liquids that are put into vape devices in order to create vapour. This vapour is what is then inhaled, giving vaping its name. E-liquids are made of vegetable glycerin (VG), propyl glycol (PG), flavourings, water and can optionally contain nicotine.

What is a 50/50 e-liquid?

A 50/50 e-liquid is typically a 10ml e-liquid that contains nicotine. They are named 5050/s because they have 50% PG (propyl glycol) and 50% VG (vegetable glycerin) content. This makes them ideal for pod kits.

What is a nic salt?

Nic salts, or e-liquid salts, are an e-liquid that contains a more natural salt form of nicotine called nicotine salicylate. This salt form of nicotine is similar to the natural nicotine found in the tobacco leaf. Nic salts typically come in 10ml bottles and are available in a variety of flavours.

What is a shortfill?

A shortfill is an e-liquid that contains zero nicotine and comes in larger bottles, usually 50ml+ and over. Because they contain no nicotine, they can be sold in bottles larger than 10ml; this means they can be cheaper per ml of e-liquid. They are called shortfills, because the bottles leave room for a nic shot, the simplest way of adding nicotine to an e-liquid.

What is a Nic shot?

Nic shots are flavourless e-liquids that contatin nicotine. Adding nic shots to a shortfill effectively increases the nicotine content of a shortfill. This allows you to vape nicotine e-liquid while taking advantage of the great value of shortfills.

Which e-liquids are safe?

All e-liquids that are sold in the UK have been through some of the most rigorous safety tests in the world. The e-liquids we sell are UK approved, which means they have been through these rigorous tests and should not contain any harmful substances. However, if you have any allergies to food additives, always check the ingredients of an e-liquid you are thinking of buying.

When do e-liquids expire?

Like many other products, e-liquids can go bad after time, however e-liquids usually last up to two years. E-liquids can discolour over time, but this is usually just oxygen reacting with the liquid. If you have any concerns, it’s always best to read the label of your e-liquid to find out the expiration date.

Which e-liquid is best?

There is no simple answer to that, as every vaper is different! There are a lot of ways to vape, such as by using a pod kit or a sub ohm kit, and the kind of e-liquid that is best for each can differ. Furthermore, flavour preference is very subjective and there are so many available! It is best to try different e-liquids and find out which brand, flavour and type is perfect for how you choose to vape.

Which e-liquid to use for sub ohm kits?

For sub ohm kits, we recommend using an e-liquid that is high in VG. This allows for the creation of the best clouds, and they work well with the low resistance of sub ohm coils. Many shortfills are available in 70-30 VG-PG ratio.

Which e-liquid to use for pod kits?

Pod kits work best with e-liquids that have a good PG content. For convenience, we recommend either 50-50s or nic salts. Both of these e-liquids have a 50% PG content and their convenient size make them ideal for pod kit vaping.

What are PG VG ratios?

PG VG ratios are the amount of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG) in an e-liquid. These ingredients affect how an e-liquid behaves. High PG e-liquids tend to have more focus on flavour, but can have a harder throat hit. High VG liquids produce more vapour and are smoother, but they can give less distinct flavour and are harder on coils. Both types of e-liquids are great, it’s all about using them in the right device.
