Mesh vape coils differ from standard coils in that they are made from a strip of mesh-like metal that resembles a grid. This provides far greater surface area to heat e-liquids, which results in several very noticeable advantages. The first is that mesh coils offer more efficient heating, which means e-liquids take less time to be properly vaporised. This gives a cooler vape and reduced chances of experiencing a nasty ‘dry hit’. The second advantage of mesh coils is that they last longer due to not requiring so much aggressive heating.
Mesh coils are most common in sub-ohm resistances and are suited for direct-to-lung vaping. This makes them ideal for use with high-VG e-liquids such as shortfills that require more heating. However, MTL mesh coils are becoming more common because of their efficiency.
