About the Caliburn G5 Lite

The G5 Lite is the entry point into Uwell's fifth-generation Caliburn line. Where the G4 Pro sits at the top of the range with a touchscreen and Custom Mode, the G5 Lite strips the kit back to the essentials and prioritises battery life, simplicity and pod flexibility. There are no buttons, no menus and no wattage settings to learn. You charge the device, click in a pod, fill it, and inhale to vape.

The chassis is the headline visual feature. Uwell builds the G5 Lite around a dual-layer design that stacks a coloured core under a translucent outer shell, giving the device a depth-filled optical finish that shifts subtly with the light. The shell is lightweight but rigid, and the device is shaped to sit comfortably in the hand for extended use. A 360-degree clear view window through the body lets you check e-liquid level at a glance without removing the pod.

Battery life and charging

The G5 Lite carries a 1600mAh internal battery, which is significantly larger than most pod kits in its price bracket. Uwell rates the device for up to six days of light use between charges, with most adult vapers seeing a full day of moderate use before needing to top up. Charging is handled through a USB-C port on the base of the device. A four-bar gradient LED indicator on the body shows current battery status at a glance, with green for full and red for low. A USB-C cable is not included in the box, so use any standard USB-C lead.

Smart Mode and PRO-FOCS 4.0 flavour technology

The G5 Lite uses Uwell's Smart Mode, which automatically reads the resistance of the pod you've installed and tunes the wattage to suit. Drop in a 1.2 ohm GPP pod and the device sets itself for a tight MTL draw at low wattage. Drop in a 0.4 ohm pod and the same device steps up to deliver the warmer, looser RDL output that pod is built for. There's no manual adjustment to make, which keeps the kit beginner-friendly without sacrificing performance.

PRO-FOCS 4.0 is the latest generation of Uwell's flavour-tuning system, designed to keep the e-liquid's full aroma intact across the life of the pod. Uwell rates it for up to 35 percent longer coil life than the previous generation, which translates directly into more refills per pod before the flavour drops off and the pod needs replacing.

Pod compatibility

The G5 Lite accepts the full Caliburn GPP pod platform plus the older Caliburn G3 pods, giving you eight resistance options across two pod platforms. GPP top fill pods refill via a cap on the top of the pod. GPP side fill pods refill via a rubber-plugged port on the side. Caliburn G3 pods are still supported as a backwards-compatible option. Rotating the pod 180 degrees in the device switches the airflow between a tight MTL inhale and a looser RDL draw.

Caliburn G5 Lite: frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Caliburn G5 Lite and the G5 Lite SE?

The internals are identical: same 1600mAh battery, same 35W output, same Smart Mode, same GPP pod compatibility. The difference is the chassis finish. The standard G5 Lite uses a translucent dual-layer shell that lets a coloured core show through. The G5 Lite SE uses a dual-tone finish with a premium leather-effect outer panel and a striped texture. Choose by the look you prefer.

Is the Caliburn G5 Lite good for beginners?

Yes. The G5 Lite is draw-activated, so there's no fire button to press and no wattage to set. Smart Mode handles pod resistance automatically, the airflow is set by rotating the pod, and the only physical action is filling the pod and clicking it in. It is one of the simpler refillable pod kits to start on.

How long does the G5 Lite battery last?

Battery life depends on usage. Uwell rates the 1600mAh battery for up to six days of light use between charges. Most adult vapers using the kit through the day see a full day of moderate use before needing to recharge. USB-C charging brings the device back to full in under an hour with a standard cable.

Which pods fit the G5 Lite?

The G5 Lite accepts every Caliburn GPP pod (both top fill and side fill, in 0.4, 0.6, 0.9 and 1.2 ohm) plus the older Caliburn G3 pods. It does not fit the older Caliburn G or G2 mesh pods, which use a different platform.

Can I switch between MTL and RDL on the G5 Lite?

Yes. The G5 Lite uses a dual airflow system that switches by rotating the pod 180 degrees in the device. One orientation gives a tight cigarette-style MTL draw, suited to higher-resistance GPP pods at lower wattage. The other gives a looser RDL inhale, suited to lower-resistance pods at higher wattage.

What e-liquid works best with the G5 Lite?

The G5 Lite is built around 50/50 PG/VG e-liquids and nicotine salts in 10mg or 20mg strengths. Higher VG e-liquids will work but tend to wick more slowly through the GPP mesh coil and may shorten coil life. Stick to 50/50 nic salts for the best balance of flavour, throat hit and pod longevity.

Is a USB-C cable included with the G5 Lite?

No. Uwell ships the G5 Lite without a charging cable to reduce packaging waste, since most users already own a USB-C cable from a phone or other device. Any standard USB-C lead will charge the device. The recommended input is 5V/2A.
