Luxe XR pods are empty coil-based pods — they do not contain an integrated coil. Instead, a GTX coil is pressed into the pod base and replaced independently when it burns out, keeping the pod shell. This gives the Luxe X range a significant long-term cost advantage over pod kits where the entire pod is discarded when the coil degrades.
The DTL and MTL versions differ in their internal airflow channel. The DTL pod has a wider airflow path suited to lower-resistance coils at higher wattages. The MTL pod has a narrower channel for a tighter draw with higher-resistance coils and nic salts. Both use the same top-fill system and clip into all compatible Luxe X family devices identically. When choosing GTX coils for the Luxe XR MTL pod, note that coils below 0.4 ohm designed for high-wattage DTL are best used in the DTL pod variant.
Luxe XR MTL and DTL pods are compatible with the following Vaporesso devices: Luxe X, Luxe X Pro, Luxe X2, Luxe X3, Luxe XR, Luxe XR Max and Luxe XR Max 2. All devices in the Luxe X family accept Luxe XR pods alongside the built-in coil Luxe X pods.
Luxe X pods have a built-in integrated coil. When the coil degrades, the whole pod is replaced. Luxe XR pods are empty shells that accept replaceable GTX coils. When the coil degrades, you remove and replace only the GTX coil and keep the pod. Luxe XR pods work with the full GTX coil range covering resistances from 0.2 ohm DTL through to 1.2 ohm MTL. Both pod types are compatible with all devices in the Luxe X family.
Press the GTX coil into the coil seat at the base of the Luxe XR pod until it clicks into place. Fill the pod from the top-fill port, replace the fill plug, and allow 3 to 5 minutes for the coil to saturate before the first puff. When the coil needs replacing, pull the spent coil out from the base and press in a new one. The pod shell itself can be reused multiple times.
