Standard Xlim V3 and EZ pods use kanthal mesh coils. Xlim SS pods replace that with a stainless steel mesh coil, which has two advantages regardless of which Xlim device you use. First, stainless steel distributes heat more evenly across the coil surface, which means more consistent flavour throughout the life of the pod rather than gradual fade. Second, OXVA rates SS coils at up to 30% longer lifespan than kanthal, so each pod lasts longer between replacements.
When paired with the Xlim Pro 2 DNA, SS pods unlock two additional features that are exclusive to that device and that pod combination. Temperature control mode uses the Evolv DNA chip to monitor coil temperature in real time and cut power before the coil overheats — this prevents dry hits even when the pod is running low on e-liquid. Flavour Replay lets the DNA chip replay the exact firing profile of your best puff, reproducing it consistently on every subsequent draw. Neither feature works with V3 or EZ pods on the Pro 2 DNA. On all other Xlim kits, SS pods work in wattage mode only — temperature control is not available.

No. Temperature control mode is only available when Xlim SS pods are used with the Xlim Pro 2 DNA. That device contains an Evolv DNA chip that reads the resistance change in the stainless steel coil as it heats up and adjusts power accordingly. No other Xlim device has the DNA chip, so SS pods on all other Xlim kits — including the Pro 3, 3 Ultra, Go 2 and SQ Pro 2 — function in standard wattage mode only, the same as V3 or EZ pods.
Flavour Replay is a feature of the Evolv DNA chip on the Xlim Pro 2 DNA that records the firing profile of a puff you enjoyed and replays it precisely on subsequent puffs. Yes, SS pods are required to use it — Flavour Replay relies on temperature control, which itself requires stainless steel coils to function. V3 and EZ pods use kanthal coils which do not support temperature control or Replay on any device.
Yes. Xlim SS pods are physically compatible with all Xlim series kits except the Xlim C. On the Go 2, Pro 3, 3 Ultra, SQ Pro 2 and all other non-DNA Xlim kits they operate in wattage mode only — there is no temperature control. You still benefit from the longer coil life and more consistent flavour that the stainless steel construction provides, but the DNA-specific features will not function without the DNA chip.
The 0.4 ohm resistance is not available in the SS pod format. The SS range covers 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm, which addresses the MTL and RDTL vaping styles that the Xlim series is designed for. If you need a 0.4 ohm pod for a looser RDTL draw, use Xlim V3 or EZ pods in that resistance instead.
